It is noticeable in these advertisements that each year the price of the motorcycles are being reduced.

In 1921 a New Scale motorcycle and sidecar would have cost anything up to 160 guineas (£168) depending on the model.

Bearing in mind that £168:00 is approximately the equivalent of £5,905.00 in today's money (2012) by the following year the prices had dropped to £130.00  a drop of £1,463.00 in today's money.
And with so many British manufacturers competing for sales, and cost of materials and labour rising, was one of the reasons why so many British Motorcycle Companies went out of business at this time
